The path to success is never a straight line...

I recently interviewed one of my favorite entrepreneurs in the whole world . . . the legendary David Ask (the link to this interview is at the bottom of this email - which I highly recommend you check out - AFTER - reading this : )!

David Ask is the founder of StatGuardPlus, a thermostat guard with a keyless entry, sold in over 3,000 retail stores and 5 countries!

But at multiple points over his journey, David almost lost it all.

Why??

Because success wasn’t a straight line for David. (I can relate!!)

David remembers when his company landed a killer deal with Home Depot, making him feel like he had finally “figured it out” and succeeded in life!

Then just months later, David didn’t have enough product to fill that shelf and was paying hefty fines for it. He was afraid of losing the precious deal so soon after getting it.

Or just a few years ago, David secured shelf space in Lowe’s, which was another monumental accomplishment! (Shelf space isn’t easy to get!)

But before he knew it, COVID shut down the economy, almost bringing his business to a screeching halt.

And then there was another time when the StatGuardPlus was selling like hotcakes… all before a competitor tried to copy David’s idea and drive him out of business! (Talk about one punch after the other!)

Like I said, success is not a straight line!

I’ve worked with dozens of entrepreneurs, and I’ve seen firsthand how running a business is a rollercoaster of emotions!

For David, he had plenty of awesome highs, but he also had some terrifying lows…

If David had relied on his victories to sustain his motivation, he would have folded years ago. He would have been burnt out and running on empty!

Thankfully, David is thriving today, even in the midst of economic uncertainty!

How?

Not because he just got better at selling thermostat guards…

And not because he never had painful losses (trust me, we all have!)

David and his business thrived through the heartache because he knew his deepest values and chose to act on them, no matter the circumstances.

As David beautifully put in our interview,

“When you make it through the hard times, you put more tools in your belt. Resilience is not a reflex. It’s a way of life.”

You have the power to radically change how to react to hard times, allowing you to grow through uncertainty and thrive in difficulty.

Whether he was about to lose a life-changing deal or see his idea stolen out from under him, David chose to be the most Radically Resilient person in the room. That’s why his business is thriving today!

This isn’t limited to David’s story…

Empirical evidence clearly demonstrates that resilient individuals are more likely to be successful, experience better health, have more satisfying relationship outcomes, enhanced emotional well-being, etc. (so, just imagine what Radically Resilient individuals are capable of achieving!!).

And - when you establish an entire organization - that practices and embraces True North Radical Resilience - it amplifies the successes (just imagine having your entire team adopting a mindset and tools that empowers them to be more successful, have less sick days, build better relationships, and manage stress in a more effective and beneficial manner - wouldn’t that be worth checking out!!??).

So if you’re an entrepreneur itching to launch your new big idea…

If you’re a business owner facing uncertainty - but you want your team to have confidence that you can lead them True North in the face of uncertainty. . .

Or if you’re someone who’s done letting your emotions get the better of you…
